Recent Interviews & Discussions
My latest interview was with writer and critic Bram E. Gieben, where we discussed the violence I experienced at the Toronto G20, anti-capitalist struggle more broadly, and the effects of identitarianism within the left.
Before that, I had an excellent conversation with painter and theorist Tyler Murphy about faith, ideology, and spiritual/existential crisis.
In this discussion, I explore the neoliberal portrayal of female sexuality in the film Babygirl with Nance, Ann Snelgrove-McKerracher and David McKerracher of Theory Underground.
This is the talk I gave at the Theory Underground conference in Boise, Idaho last October, now titled You Must First Change Yourself: Is the Self-Care Left Abandoning Collective Action?
Here, Nance and I discuss what it was like to speak at a conference where working-class autodidacts sat on panels beside accomplished academics.
This was my first conversation with Ann Snelgrove-McKerracher and David McKerracher, just as we were getting to know each other, and I was deciding to make the trip to Boise.
Reading Group
Everyone should read The Chronic Crisis of American Democracy by Benjamin Studebaker to better contextualize the recent re-election of Donald Trump. You can watch a chapter-by-chapter reading with in-depth discussions here.
From the Archives
This panel was a part of the Fucking Cancelled podcast tour, and took place at the Wise Hall in Vancouver on May Day 2023. It also featured Tara McGowan-Ross, one of my favourite writers.
Before the tour began, Clementine Morrigan and Jay Lesoleil interviewed me about my time in the social justice subculture.

Really enjoyed our conversation Kier. Hopefully we get to talk again!
